FYI, KDVI does allow you to export your dvi file as text. I don't know how it
handles graphic files, equations, etc, but plain text seems to work well
enough.
It *might* be quicker to prepare your thesis in LaTeX, export the dvi file to
plain ascii and use M$ stuff on that.
