BTW, this is a dual Xeon with hyperthreading turned on. Top is not time averaging. it is giving you a percentage of CPU of the elapsed CPU time since the last screen update as a percentage of total CPU time. I think that the figures may be skewed as a result of the hyperthreading. Note that the I global command toggles between Irix and Solaris mode, and should give you a different result. -- Jerry Feldman
