Hello everyone: While I agree that language can, and should be, evolutionary, there is also a very real demand that people attempting to speak, or write that language should have a solid grasp of the basics, especially spelling and grammar. Advertising, the mass media, plus other factors such as laziness and sloppiness, have all contributed to the decline in the quality of the English language. And part of the responsibility for this decline must rest with the eduction system and its participants. In talking about education, I think George Bernard Shaw said it best: He who can does.
