As a newcomer to SUSE (a few hours), I found this situation somewhat disturbing:
# grep -r baxbax /etc/ grep: /etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1/50-visor.hotplug: Too many levels of symbolic links # ls -ltr /etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1/ total 1 drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 488 Mar 23 08:50 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Jul 5 06:42 50-visor.hotplug -> 50-visor.hotplug drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 80 Jul 5 06:42 .
Is this link really supposed to point to itself?? It looks like a bug to me. i checked my 9.3 and saw the same thing. I would suggest removing that symlink and link it to the 50-visor.hotplug in ttyUSB0, i.e. jmorris:/home/joe # cd /etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1/ jmorris:/etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1 # ls -al total 8 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 2005-05-15 16:12 . drwxr-xr-x 19 root root 4096 2005-05-24 10:29 .. lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 2005-05-15 16:12 50-visor.hotplug -> 50-visor.hotplug jmorris:/etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1 # rm 50-visor.hotplug jmorris:/etc/hotplug.d/ttyUSB1 # ln -s ../ttyUSB0/50-visor.hotplug 50-visor.hotplug HTH -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Registered Linux user 231871
