NSS does run on SuSE as part of Novell's Nterprise Linux Services.
This could be beneficial for specific Novell services as it will support extended attributes that Reiserfs doesn't, and be happily managed via iManager.
Just as an idea, here's a quick review article from information week: http://www.informationweek.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=60401973

Is this on the install DVD or the CD's?
The OP was inquiring as to whether or not he could format the HD using NSS instead of reiser during the SLES install or at least that is what I understood him to ask.
I see NCP as an option in the kernel, but I don't remember seeing it during install.
Also please don't top post.
I don't want to reopen the debate, but most times it makes the reply in question immediately readable, if your memory is that good and saves paging over the cruft to see what you really want to see, OK if you are seeing for the first time, but I normally ignore the top stuff, however, bottom posting seems to be the norm and I stick with it.
