The convention says trim back the latest to something reasonable and 
bottom post. When following a topic, I don't usually want to see what 
went before, but if I get interested part way through the discussion, I 
can visit the archives, so I find top posting less intrusive, but as the 
saying goes, I takes whatever comes.
