The Sil 3112 has had problems with the recent 2.6.12-rc kernels and I
think earlier as well, but I don't know when the bug appeared.

The driver tried to write to 3112 registers that only really existed
on a 3114. The fix for this was just submitted to Linus in the last
day or two. I assume it will make it into 2.6.12 final.

Do you have the 3112 working with SuSE 9.3 (2.6.11 based kernel, but
heavily patched).
