My system is online again. I had to edit the Network card settings in YAST. This is what I did: YAST > Network Devices > Network Card Then I edited the current device Went to Advanced > DHCP Client Options and put a check mark at "Request Broadcast Response" Only after doing that could I again get an IP from my ISP's DHCP server. I don't know why that worked and I don't know if I have used that setting before, but I am glad to have SuSE online again. Thanks for all the responses. Dan Dan wrote:

I have SuSE installed on my laptop as a dual boot option. I recently ran Yast Online Update for the first time.
After the Update completed my eth0 is down and I am not online anymore from SuSE.
Any ideas why this happened?
I don't know how to get eth0 running again, any suggestions?
