Oops, sorry, I mis-read "-p" instead of "-P" inthe man pages.
That's indeed with the -P option that -l (--list) only show patched files.
The confusion was probably caused by the
rpm --query -p xorg.x11-6.8.2-30.i586.rpm --list
I tried expecting to see all the files in the .rpm did not show the files
I was specially checking for.
(As to get back relevant with the topic of this thread ;-)
I'll add that using rpm with --force option from runlevel 3
did not help to re-install xorg properly in hope to fix the keyboard.)
