Okay, Have SLES 9 patched up on some bits 'n pieces hardware..... Logins are done via the LDAP Client to an eDir and the logins work fine, they can use VMWare Workstation that I've installed....Problem is K3b... DVD Burner info is: UniqueID=90A1.xqu2XhWbeU2 HWClass=cdrom Model=PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-109 Configured=yes Available=yes Needed=no Active=unknown Bus=0x85 Slot=0x2 BaseClass=0x106 SubClass=0x2 ProgIF=0x4 DeviceName=DVD-RW DVR-109 VendorName=PIONEER RevisionName=1.40 Serial=EADL071156WL UnixDevice=/dev/hdc UnixDeviceList=/dev/hdc /dev/disk/by-path/pci-devices-ide-0:0 /dev/disk/by-id/PIONEER_DVD-RW_DVR-10 Drivers=ide-cdrom SysfsID=/block/hdc SysfsBusID=1.0 SysfsLink=/devices/ide1/1.0 HWClassList=00008000040001 Features=0xf0 Res.Size=3,0,512 /block/hdc name: hdc links: disk/by-path/pci-devices-ide-0:0, disk/by-id/PIONEER_DVD-RW_DVR-10 ...which is also mounted as /media/dvdrecorder. Root can run K3b and see the drive fine, users can't. Any suggestions on getting LDAP Users to see the DVD Recorder would be greatly appreciated... ------------------------- Ben Walter Consultant DDI: +64 4 470 5527 Mob: +64 27 414 4570 Novell, Inc., the leading provider of information solutions http://www.novell.com
