Oh, that's good to know. That's a non-starter for me, then. Because obviously I need the compiler to install many apps from source.
Actually, I use NLD at work. The GCC compiler is included on the CD/DVD set, it just isn't installed by default. It was necessary to install it so I could compile many apps we use to access our iSeries boxes.
