I would just like to say thanks to the people who make such an effort to help us newbies. Although I would like to adopt Linux as a hobby (maybe when I retire, I'm only 62) at the moment I am a frantically working technical programmer who is trying to move from mainframe and MS_Windows experience into this world. At times I have become very lost in the new jargon, the system set-up, directories and configuration files, frustrating failures, as well as miles of documentation. Getting onto the wrong track is very time consuming (albeit interesting).
So, my heartfelt thank you to the following people. Thanks to others who have made a comment (including those pulling me up to the standards of this group) and sorry if a significant contributor has slipped my back search. Now I am going for coffee :-) Regards, Colin

Lovely to see a person not afraid of learning something new! And to see someone as old (No offense intended) willing to "start fresh".
I have to agree to your statements Colin, the "proffessionals" in here are such a value to the community! I bow to the grace they give us.
And Richard Stallman's quote is ever so true...
