It seems to me you may have a miss-configured crypto plugin enabled in Kmail. You might try turning them all off, or fixing the plugin specific to the type of signature involved. The pause as one of these mails is clicked on happens when kmail tries to validate the signature using the crypto plug-in. Does it bomb on this message?
