As I said in my second post he would need to ssh to server1 and then
use that servers shell to control the install on server2 via a null
modem cable. server2 output would go across the null modem cable to
server1, where he could control the install using the ssh session from
his box 3000 miles away.
Here's the quote:
"I forgot to state that you could then ssh to server1 and control
server2 over the null modem connection. In effect server1 has become
a cheap console server."
All he needs is a body on the other end to connect the cable, press
the power button, and put in the disk.
