Hi,
I just received some IBM eSeries x346 and I have a problem. I installed SuSE 9.2 Pro and everything was fine until I "enabled HostRaid". Once I enabled HostRaid the SuSE Linux did not recognise the disks and did not boot. I then tried to re-install and the instalation process also did not recognise the discs.
After a bit of research I found out that I needed a special driver for the Adaptec HostRaid (a320raid).
I went to the IBM site as well as to the Adaptec site and I did not find drivers specifically for SuSE 9.2 Pro (there are however drivers for Suse 9.0 Pro, SLES 9 and SLES 9 SP1).
Is there a solution for my problem? Can anybody help!!!
Clemente
That's because the drivers are written for the 2.4 kernel and have not been ported to the 2.6 kernel. I have an LSI ATA100 on board controller that I had problems getting to work under 2.4 and will -not- be supported under 2.6. Bummer.
All you can probably do at this point is keep hounding Adaptec/IBM to port the driver to the 2.6 kernel and hope for the best.

There are drivers for the 2.6 Kernel. SLES 9 includes the 2.6 kernel and Adaptec has release a driver for SLES 9. But will the driver built for SLES 9 work on Suse 9.2? How do I get it to work? Clemente
