Hi, I've bought an audio book on http://www.audible.com/. They use a closed Audible Audio format and do not support Linux. (It's a bad combination but I didn't find the book anywhere else.) I've managed to install their AudibleManager under CrossOver Office (SUSE 9.1) and I can listen to the book via a Windows Media Player (6.4). But I'd like to listen to it on my MP3 player (which knows MP3 and OGG formats but doesn't know AA). It is possible to record the sound from the "line" output of the sound card but I prefer a better solution which records the sound on the "ALSA" level. How can I do that? I've tried the example in the "arecord" man page but it doesn't work. The command "arecord" is blocked when the Windows Media Player is active so I suspect there is a problem with OSS and ALSA drivers but I'm not familiar with the details. -- A.M.
