kprinter stopeed working - Initializing Manager

Hi:
I was trying to configure cups as a client only system. But now kprinter hangs
indefinetely with the message "Initializing Manager" until I killed it
several hours later. I assume there must be a text file where kprinter saves
its configuration, but I can not find anything that will lead me to it. Any
pointers would be appreciated.
