Well, I can hardly afford to have my printer go off-line (though I'd
dearly like to get a real printer, a laser printer that does PostScript
and that attaches via Ethernet, not one of these rip-off ink-jet
things...).

If there's a way to selectively configure which USB devices or classes
of devices are managed by hot-plug daemon, that would be ideal.
