I'm running SuSE 9.2 with and am attempting to use The Gimp V2.0.4. When I open the application, the background color of the windows and dialogs are black and all the label text is also black, which makes it difficult to read. If I start it in a console I get a bunch of the following errors (this is just a sample of a much longer list): (gimp:17542): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c: line 1579 (g_object_unref): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (gimp:17542): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: file gobject.c: line 1579 (g_object_unref): assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (gimp:17542): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkdraw.c: line 204 (gdk_drawable_get_depth): assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)'failed (gimp:17542): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkwindow-x11.c: line 2510 (gdk_window_set_back_pixmap): assertion `pixmap == NULL || gdk_drawable_get_depth (window) == gdk_drawable_get_depth (pixmap)' failed (gimp:17542): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkdraw.c: line 204 (gdk_drawable_get_depth): assertion `GDK_IS_DRAWABLE (drawable)'failed (gimp:17542): Gdk-CRITICAL **: file gdkwindow-x11.c: line 2510 (gdk_window_set_back_pixmap): assertion `pixmap == NULL || gdk_drawable_get_depth (window) == gdk_drawable_get_depth (pixmap)' failed So it looks like it's trying to draw a pixmap on the background, but fails. Any thoughts on what might be the problem? I've tried removing and reinstalling it, but that didn't help. I've also tried monkeying with colors and window decorations in Control Center, but couldn't find anything there either. All thoughts are welcome. -- Bill Lugg Milstar Software Support Peterson AFB, CO
