I installed 9.3 a couple of days ago and am disappointed with this release on AMD64 platform. I have already documented the problems with wireless network. There have since been other issues. The wireless network cannot be configured by yast. The card is detected and installed. "iwconfig" shows that the card is available but the system will not bring the interface up. The essid is not being set. The "iwconfig" and "dhclient" commands have to be run manually to bring up the interface.
Sorry to hear you are having problems. I haven't tried 9.3 on my laptop yet, so I can't really comment on the wireless support.
This has been such a problem that I have not had time set-up other services to run my home network, which is still running on 9.2.
On 9.2 on AMD64, Apache and MySql will not start automatically even though the runlevels are set to start these services automatically. This has to be done manually after each boot. I have not set-up 9.3 with these services but have a feeling it has not been corrected. The 32-bit version of 9.2 worked much better than the 64-bit version.
Something is wrong with your setup then. I run both on my AMD64 box, and have for 9.1, 9.2 and now 9.3. Zero problems on all three releases, they work perfectly and startup at boot without a problem. As root from the commandline, try # chkconfig apache2 # chkconfig mysql And see if it reports back that they are on.
