Im running KDE3.4 (suse 9.2 x86_64 rpms) and have neither of the 2 problems
you mention .
Arts works just fine.
I don;t use kmail, but didn;t get any unresolved depndecies in the rpm
installer (apart for the jack one that always pops up)
