What am I supposed to do ????
I would give sax2 a spin. Boot your machine to a command prompt. At the prompt type
sax2 -a
It will ask you for your root password, which I assume you managed to set before accidentally resetting your machine?
Thank you Andy, That is exactly what I was going to say in response. Here's the key sequence for keyboard navigation.
Type:
alt+F2 to bring up your "Run Command" Box.
type in "Konsole".
Become root from there and try "sax2 -a"

I would like to add that your mouse appears to be a PS2 model. When you are able to choose mouse model opt for the explorer PS2 version. If nothing else works then you may need to restart the install from scratch. Just let the 1st CD do a fresh install wiping everything including the partition table - unless you are dual booting of course. When things have gone awry I've always found this to be the best route rather than trying to repair bits that you are not sure about. -- Take care.
