At some point, I compiled and installed the latest k3b (think it was 0.11.18 then), same as I have always done. After that writing cds as normal user stopped functioning. I get:Check to make sure you do not have cdrecord suid. It needs to not be suid now to work.
TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROMthe mmap issue is because of kernel security changes. You can get more info from the k3b site. 0.11.19 is out, I would also suggest updating.
cdrecord: Resource temporarily unavailable. Cannot get mmap for 4198400 Bytes on /dev/zero.
I suspect resmgr is at fault, but I cannot figure out exactly how.It isn't resmgr, it is a clash of cdrecord's security feature and the new security feature of the kernel.
This is in SUSE 9.2 btw.Just make sure cdrecord is 755 and it should work again as non root.
