After finally getting 9.2 which I have to say is amazing. I'm glad I don't listen to people on the list who bashed it, must be user related I guess, it's worked fine for me so far and even installed on a box I have that would NOT work with the 2.6 Kernel. Back to Mutt. I just spent a fairly long time because of me being lazy. I have my /etc/Muttrc file burned to CDs, stored on every machine on my network, and on floppy just so I never have to go through that monster again. I copied over the file from my 9.1 FTP Server and su to root and boom, Mutt won't let me have threads.... Hmmm, it works on 9.1 just fine but on here it won't.... OK so I go through and get my home dir's .mutt directory deleted, remake it and open Vim to create muttrc for my non root account. Again, won't work. I can't get threads.... OK so now I am getting upset about jit.... Last choice I wanted to take: I opened Muttrc in /etc in Vim and poke around. At the bottom of the file (almost 10 KBs of text later, the original Linux Kernel version 0.001 was smaller than this damned configuration file lol) and I see the problem. For some reason I had set sort=alias something or other set in THERE so it made sense of why I couldn't get threads to work in my muttrc file in my home dorectory. I delete that line, :wq, and boom, threadw. Moral of this story: Mutt is better than everything else for mail clients and being lazy with configuration files is bad.
