Sorry you are having problems, but it's gratifying to know that it isn't 
only me. Proves (I hope) that it's not something wrong here but is 
external.

Strange that, of all the sites I have  used during the past two days, 
it's just those two sites (gwdg and mathematik) which appear to be 
affected. 

I'll see what happens over the course of the next couple of days.
