gwdg is carrying a big load continuesly. Right now it has
230-we have 1131 users (max 8192) logged in in your class at the moment.
And that is only. Besides ftp connections there are 500 http and 300 rsync
connections simulteanously. It all ends up at the same disk array and
although the disk caches are already bug, so many users still slow down the
system.
It would be nice if you could arrange some mirrors for the apt repository to
share the burden :)
