Upgrading from 8.2 to 9.2 via 9.2 DVD?

Hi,
I know it's not recommended, but I was wondering how many issues I may
run into by doing an upgrade like this vs. a wipe of the system. This is
for my work notebook, so I don't feel like spending inordinate amounts
of time to backup, wipe the system, reinstall, etc. I've done upgrades
of 8.2 - > 9.1 on desktop machines, but was wondering if any issues may
arise because I'm on a notebook (Thinkpad T30). Any advice is
appreciated. Thanks.
