I have also installed libdvdcss, upgraded xine, kaffiene, etc. Done several YOU updates with no problem. It will not update any files which you have updated manually to a newer version. If you search the rpm in yast add remove programs, any program you have installed or updated yourself will have a little padlock next to it. These online updates also included kernel updates with no problem including with NVIDIA and Crossover office. Just have to reboot after kernel update. You're running a YOU-updated kernel. My understanding is that it defaults to installing the source.
Have you checked /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-24.11 ?

ya i checked in this folder.... i can get it from there.... but why yast online update don't give me the choice to download kernel source 2.6.8-24.11?
The reason it doesn't show up in YOU as an available update is because the package has already been installed. You can install it again by checking the "reload all patches from server" box before clicking "Next." It will download information on all the available patches for 9.2 again. Select the kernel source for 2.6.8-24.11 and click "Accept." YOU will download and install it again in the same place. Is that what you're after or am I misunderstanding your question?
HI, I've instaled SuSE 9.2 originally from CDs and after that instaled only a few extra apps like Xine, libdvdcss etc. SuSE box works great. And I've never done update via YOU. So, I've heard that some people have had problems after update via YOU. I would do update, but I am afraid to mess my system. Would like to hear experiances of others regarding update via YOU, especialy kernel update. Do you have had problems after update? -- Mirko
