Hi all, I compiled and installed the latest k3b, same as I always do, and it broke things a bit. I have seen this before, so luckily I know what went wrong - I just don't know how to fix it. It seems it broke whatever logs a normal user into resource manager. Normal user can't write CDs anymore (even after I uninstalled the newer k3b - made an rpm, lucklily) and reinstall the one from the SUSE CDs. This in in 9.2, btw. root can write cds OK, but logging the normal user into resource manager doesn't seem to help. Here's what I get: hansdp@ncshans:/opt/hans> cdrecord dev=ATA:1,1,0 -dao -data -v driveropts=burnfree speed=12 -eject gracetime=2 opencd.iso Cdrecord-Clone 2.01 (i686-suse-linux) Copyright (C) 1995-2004 Jörg Schilling Note: This version is an unofficial (modified) version Note: and therefore may have bugs that are not present in the original. Note: Please send bug reports or support requests to http://www.suse.de/feedback Note: The author of cdrecord should not be bothered with problems in this version. TOC Type: 1 = CD-ROM cdrecord: Resource temporarily unavailable. Cannot get mmap for 4198400 Bytes on /dev/zero. hansdp@ncshans:/opt/hans> Anyone know how to fix this?
