I've got a problem w/ my Linksys pcmcia card not connecting to the router unless I first perform the following after booting up and logging in as joe-user: I need to log in as root and run: ifdown eth0 (hardware nic, not even connected to anything) ifdown wlan0 iwconfig wlan0 ifup wlan0 Unless I perform these steps as root, I will not be able to obtain an IP from the router. I'm using ndiswrapper on SuSE 9.2. Is there a way of getting the devices loaded such that a regular user can simply boot up, log in and get on the net w/o having to know the root password to run the script shown above? -- Thanks, Dan Registered Linux User #373395
