apt-get install netapplet using the sources.list from this URL: i get an error saying that netapplet not found. apt-get is new to me and even after spending many hours on it I am unable to tell what I am supposed to be doing. I have the package gtk2-devel installed but still get the gtk_stock_dialog_authentication error if I compile.
Make sure that you've uncommented the appropriate components - a # at the beginning of a line means it's a comment.
apt-get update apt-get install netapplet --
Thanks a lot for your help. I seem to have installed it and started the netdaemon as per this url http://support.novell.com/products/technicalpapers/tp10007.html. but my problems are not over. after logging back in i did not get an icon like the url says so i entered netapplet into a shell and this is my error: netapplet: error while loading shared libraries: netapplet: undefined symbol: gtk_icon_theme_get_default. Any suggestions as to how I can proceed? Thanks again Ganesh
