I have sent several emails to this list regarding setting up an email serer and have received valuable advice from it, however I still have not been able to determine what my next step is to complete setting this 'server' up on my SuSE 9.2 box. I have the following packages installed from the 9.2 CD set: antivir samba vscan Fetchamil imap kshowmail mozilla mail PostFix procmail SpamAssassin Yast2-Mail Yast2-mail aliases The 'server' will collect email from my POP3 dialup account, with fetchmail, filter it for virii with antivir and spam, with SpamAssassin, and deposit the unread email into an IMAP message store on my the 'server'. This IMAP store will be accessed from any one of 3 networked machines(Currently 2 Linux and 1 Windows). All the machines would access the same users email ie I might use a desktop connected in the LAN or download the unread email onto my laptop and view them later on the road. Moving into the configuration: I have already, entered the details required under Yast->Network Services->MTA for my dialup connection, and have jotted down the details if anyone should want them ie me in a crash and burn scenario. What is the next step to get the Fetchamil mail checked? I have selected that the email be passed into a Cyrus Imap store eventhough I only have imap installed. Procmail seems to be needed even though there is only a single user account the server is collecting for. As more of my friends are invited to use the service, I suppose that is where mail from the Postfix spam and antivirus check can then be routed to Procmail to ensure it is deposited in the correct IMAP store. Why can I not choose that Fetchamil send them to an antivirus engine and then to a spam engine and then onto my IMAP store? I know I probably can but ........ I am confused as the Yast GUI doesn't show anything oter than setting up the MTA. What about the additional helper programs etc? /me feels embarrassed for not knowing the CLI. So much for being Linux user 229959. I have read file:/usr/share/doc/packages/postfix too and have not been able to determine the next step. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 Licenced Windows user ========================================================================
