Firstly does kprint support A5 for your printer? i.e When you go to print in a kde application and you get the print dialog box up and go to "Properties-->General-->Page size" does it show A5 as an option?
Unfortunately it doesn't show/support A5 :-(

That is the reason you can't print A5. Can you indicate which ppd file you are using for this printer and what it is compatible with. Have you tried any other ppd with this printer?
