I have a very weird situation.
I have a box that have two SATA drives. When I try to install SuSE
9.2 on it, it gets to partitioning the drives and then the installer
just does not go any further. The disk light stays on.
The machine does not freeze up or anything and there are not error
messages in any of the terminals. Yast just get stuck.
I have tried to disable the SATA in the BIOS and make all kinds of
changes in the BIOS, but to no vail.
I then installed SuSE 9.1 without any problems and then tried to do an
upgrade from the 9.2 DVD. Yast gets to the point where it analyse the
root partition and then it gets stuck there. Same thing, no error
messages and the system id nog hanging, but the harddrive light stays
on and Yast is stuck.
I did not find any similar things by googling, only different SATA problems.
Any idea what I can do?
Thanks
