_________Has anyone else had trouble after upgrading to the latest kernel update from Suse? After a reboot X didn't come up. I'm getting a message saying 'failed to initialize the NVIDIA kernel driver'. I can insmod it, but the message is still there. I did use YOU to reinstall the driver. Any help *much* appreciated. If your desktop gets out of control easily, you probably have too much stuff on it that doesn't need to be there. Donna Smallin, "Unclutter Your Home"
Check that /lib/modules/2.6.8-24.5/kernel/drivers/video/nvidia.ko exists, I suspect it doesn't, so you need to do "sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run". I'm not familiar with what YaST does as the only time I tried it, it didn't work. init 3 sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run init 5 Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
