find /usr -name *i*
Strange results! Try also with a,k,m,o,s and t.
You should put a single quote around the '*i*' to prevent the shell from expanding it before the find command sees it:
find /usr -name '*i*'
This will show all files and directories under /usr with the 'i' character in its name.
