amanda - it's free and reliable and on the SuSE discs.
Okay, fired up yast and selected amanda. To resolve dependencies it tells me to install the samba client? A bit strange but I'll give it a try anyway. Some years ago I tested taper which was very easy to configure and use, but not very reliable. It seemed to have poor performance and consumed a lot of memory as well, making it prone to crash. Does anyone know if the program has matured with time? Sandy
