Hi, I solved my: INIT: Id "1" respawning too fast, disabled for 5 minutes by spending four hours re-installing and reconfiguring my workstation. Now, I am back to the original problem:
$ texi2dvi autogen.texi texi2dvi: requires tex, please install tetex and te_latex
which I *tried* to solve by installing the entire TeX distribution. (That led to the "respawning" problem with both the mingetty and the sulogin programs.) So, my question: How can I get texi2dvi to work? Thanks in advance for _any_ hints... - Bruce
