Does anyone know how to remove the sane plug-in from Gimp?

      Ok, I seem to be the only person on the planet experiencing this system freeze 
when Sane or Xsane or Kooka is used, but until I solve this I need to use 
Gimp in 9.2

Does anyone know how to remove or where the plug in is located?

I suspect this is some bus error for the usb, but I have yet to prove or find 
it as all the scanners I use are found, then can be configured, it's only 
when I actually try to use the software it all freezes.

Any help or clues would be greatly appreciated, this is driving me nuts, I 
have spent 3 days trying to solve it.
