My PC keyboard (Norwegian layout) has a couple of physical keys that are more or less "dead keys" and nothing are typed from them using a SLES8 based system. It appears as follows: My first "dead key" is located to the left of <CR> and contains three signs, which should be able to type as follows: <"horizontal colon"> that doesn't type the ".." sign <Alt Gr> + <tilde> that doesn't type the "˜" sign <shift> <top-hat> that doesn't type the "^" sign Especially the tilde "˜" sign (shortcut for $HOME) is a lack in Linux. My second partial "dead key" is located to the left of the backspace. I get one sign to work that is the "\". The other two that don't work are the <Alt Gr> + <appostrophe> that doesn type "´" sign <shift> + <"back" appostrophe> that doesn't type the "`" sign. As these keys do work correctly using Suse 9.1, I wonder if there has been experienced some "dead key" issues on previous SLES8 based system, possibly a work-around or patch that fixed this?
