Hi Peter, I guess you have probably followed the instructions on nvidia's website about 'make cloneconfig'; 'make prepare-all' before trying to install the nvidia driver? What does the output of: 'modprobe nvidia' give you? Sorry if this is just rehashing other people's advice. No help to you, but consider yourself lucky you got an nvidia card, and not an ATI one. You do realise that with your card under SuSE, you will need to download linux driver from the Nvidia website? The standard nvidia driver supplied with out of the box, called "nv", doesn't include any 3D accelerated graphics support.....

Yep, I do. I posted this at the same time as my request for ideas on how to get past a failure to install the nvidia supplied drivers.
