Following info in the above doc, I put the PPD file in /usr/share/cups/model/, and gzipped it, and using the web admin tool, http://localhost:631/, I did Add Printer, seemingly successfully. I named it "kyocera", and that name shows up in the Konqueror Print box. I used Konqueror to print Johannes' article above, successfully selecting the duplex option, so much of the system seems to be working. I can print the test page in that web tool, and it looks good except that the active area is half a centimeter high and right, as was the print from Konqueror. So I'd like to adjust the margins (or more properly the Imageable Area coordinates), something I assume I'd do in Configure Printer. But when I select Configure Printer, I get Error: client-error-not-found and when I use the cli lpoptions -l to list known options, I get: lpoptions: Destination kyocera has no PPD file! So something's not right. The Kyocera FS-1020D ppd file is now in /etc/cups/ppd, named kyocera.ppd, unchanged from the original in /usr/share/cups/model except for being uncompressed. The original is still in .../model/. The web tool shows: Default Destination: kyocera kyocera Kyocera Mita FS-1020D KPDL-3 (the ModelName from the PPD file) Description: kyocera duplex Location: myhost Printer State: idle, accepting jobs. Device URI: parallel:/dev/lp0 The active area is offset enough that I actually lose information, so I'd like to correct it before printing out all my config files. Anyone know what I should try next to correct it? TIA, Jim
