I deleted ~/.wine and ran wine again hoping that a 'config' file would be generated. It wasn't. I want /usr/windows to be the 'C' drive, and would have usually edited the 'config' file to make it so. Running wine did generate a folder called 'dosdevices', a 'drive_c' folder, a file called 'system.reg', one called 'user.reg', and one called 'userdef.reg'. I have only used windows to play games, not edit registries before coverting to linux. What am I to do? <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<- ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> How do you tell wine 20041201 which version of windoze to emulate. It defaults to 98, but I want to install XP stuff. It doesn't generate a ~/.wine/config file in this version. Thanks! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<- I found that wine works well without this file, and on the other hand, this file -if exists- has no effect! If you want to change the wine configuration, you can do these: 1- Remove ".wine" directory from your home folder (as you know, it is hidden by default). 2- Run "winecfg" at the command prompt. It has a graphical configuration at the final step. After setting your parameters, press OK. If the config file is to be thrown away anymore, where should we change the configuration directly?
