Hello

   The same thing happened to me.  I put in the original DVD and ran 
the automatic system checks after choosing the Install option.  After it 
told me that I was missing an important file from the minimum system  
setup, it then failed to install what it said it needed, but I let it 
complete all checks and then powered off and for the heck of it, I 
turned it back on and it came up normally and worked.  I have no idea 
why the auto fix said it failed and I have no idea why it works now, but 
the good news is that it does work.
