I just installed 9.0 and are trying to run a web apps that use mysql as
database engine. I am using Apache2 and Php as scripting language. It
seems that mysql.sock file is setup by mysql in the /tmp directory while
php and apache look for it in the /var/lib/mysql directory. I have setup
a /etc/my.cnf file directing the server and the client to use the
/var/lib/mysql directory, but still the mysql server insists on using
/tmp. I did not have this problem with SuSE 8.2. Is it a way around
this problem?
Thanks,
Carlos
