I have a DLT 7000 drive connected to an IBM Thinkpad 770Z via an Adaptec 1460D SCSI pcmcia card. There are two devices that I connect on this chain, a python 4mm dat drive and the DLT 7000. The dat drive is detected just fine; cat /proc/scsi/scsi shows the device. There is no sign of the DLT, though. When the same devices are connected in the same manner on a Sony Vaio running Knoppix 3.4, both tape drives show up and are functional. Installed modules on the SuSE 9.1 system are: 8390 agpgart aha152x_cs binfmt_misc dm_mod ds edd evdev exportfs ext3 freq_table hid ide_cd intel_agp ip_conntrack ip_conntrack_ftp ip_tables ipt_LOG ipt_MASQUERADE ipt_REJECT ipt_limit ipt_state iptable_filter iptable_nat ipv6 jbd joydev lp nfsd nvram parport parport_pc pcmcia_core pcnet_cs snd snd_cs4231_lib snd_cs4236 snd_cs4236_lib snd_hwdep snd_mixer_oss snd_mpu401_uart snd_opl3_lib snd_page_alloc snd_pcm snd_pcm_oss snd_rawmidi snd_seq snd_seq_device snd_seq_midi_event snd_seq_oss snd_timer soundcore speedstep_lib subfs uhci_hcd usbcore usbserial yenta_socket. Kernel is 2.6.6. Am I missing a module? Is there some other problem that I'm missing? I've tried googling this, but didn't find applicable situations. Any help would be appreciated.
