Hello,
I use SuSE 9.2. Overall locale is English, keyboard is Spanish (allows typing in English, French & Spanish). Since SuSE 7.3, I've used this setup with no problems, but now -at least in Lyx- dead keys are alive. Normally, when you hit the dead key (usually an accent), nothing happens. Then, when you hit the vowel, you get the vowel plus the accent. Right now, I get an accent and -next to it- a vowel. I believe this is a bug in SuSE's Qt rpm, which Lyx uses. Could someone suggest a workaround? Thanks.

Try Spanish (CP 850) keyboard from Yast>system>keyboard layout. Suerte.
