Ok when I was running it from the cd because it was SuSe 9.2 LIVECD KDE it went through everything then it took me to the command screen and asked for login (linux login:)
hmmm, when I use the Live eval disk it goes first to that login screen and after a few seconds it boots to the kde desktop. No input needed at the first text login screen. It pauses there, I supose in case you need to do something in text mode. You might also try just typing startx if it doesn't go past the text login... It assumes you are user (named) linux so it eventually boots to the desktop w/ the user being linux. The speed or length of time it takes to boot the the kde desktop seems to depend on the amount of ram and the speed of the Cd.. Or it just might be my perception. One box here booted it very quickly and another seemed to take long enough for me to go get another pepsi! So, perhaps you might try once more just putting the Cd in the drive and rebooting. Then wait a bit to see if it will automagically boot into the KDE desktop.. if it doesn't.. well we might need to call in the Marines <G> ( it's an old joke ) Also , it would be better for you to post to the list, as you will get more answers, and more help in case one person's answers don't work for you one of the other's will jump in. -- j -- nemo me impune lacessit
