I did an FTP install of 9.1 back in June. When done, I was busy, so put the machine aside. Now I want to do updates. Current kernel is 2.6.4-54.5. I logged into KDE as root to avoid the repeated password requests due to failure of the password remember function logged in as an ordinary user. When I select YAST from the menu, the little busy icon moves a while, then goes away. If I try yast2 from Konsole, I get message: warning: the qt frontend is installed but does not work warning: the ncurses frontend is installed but does not work You need to install yast-ncurses to use the YaST2 text mode interface Trying only yast from Konsole or from a real console, I get only the latter 2 messages. I see similar messages in /root/.xsession-errors. Nothing in /var/log seems to tell me anything useful. How can I fix this? System seems to work OK otherwise. -- "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." U.S. Constitution, Amendment 1 Team OS/2 ** Reg.
