Yes, that's what I usually do. I don't use pop3 though, but either ways, if
you start either courier-pop3 or courier-imap, it first starts
courier-authdaemon.
I'll see tonight if installing the courier rpm from SUSE 9.1 will work, but
I'm still curious as to why this is happening and how to fix it. Almost
every server we put out runs courier....
